International students of SWUFE may apply for Chinese Government Scholarship, Chengdu Government Scholarship, or SWUFE Scholarship. The scholarships are categorized into full scholarships and partial scholarships. The scholarships are preferentially awarded to excellent international students for degree studies at SWUFE. The students who have been granted scholarships are requested to participate in annual review, and those passing the annual review are eligible for next-year scholarship support.

Chinese Government Scholarship

In order to promote the mutual understanding, cooperation and exchanges in various fields between China and other countries, the Chinese government has set up a series of scholarship programs to sponsor international students, teachers and scholars to study and conduct research in Chinese universities.

China Scholarship Council (CSC), entrusted by the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China (MOE), is responsible for the enrollment and the administration of Chinese Government Scholarship programs. There are several types of scholarship program as below for international students. The application time is from last November to April of the year (varied for different countries)

l Bilateral Program

This includes full or partial scholarships in accordance with the educational exchange agreements or consensus between the Chinese government and governments of other countries, institutions, universities or international organizations. It supports undergraduate students, graduate students, general scholars and senior scholars.

Applicants shall apply to the dispatching authorities for overseas study of their home countries or Chinese Embassy in their home countries.

l Great Wall Program

This is a full scholarship for the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) to sponsor students and scholars in developing countries to study and research in China. It only supports general scholars and senior scholars.

Applicants shall apply to the National Commissions for UNESCO in their home countries.

l EU Program

This is a full scholarship to encourage students from EU member countries to study and research in China in order to promote mutual understanding between China and EU members. It supports undergraduate students, graduate students, general scholars and senior scholars.

Applicants shall apply to the Office for Education and Culture, Mission of the P. R. China to the European Union.

l AUN Program

This is a full scholarship for the ASEAN University Network (AUN) to sponsor students, teachers and scholars from ASEAN member nations to study in China and to enhance the academic exchange and mutual understanding between China and ASEAN members. It only supports graduates.

Applicants shall apply to AUN Secretariat.

l Chinese University Program

This is a full scholarship for designated Chinese universities and certain provincial education offices in specific provinces or autonomous regions to recruit outstanding international students for graduate studies in China. It only supports undergraduates, postgraduate students and doctoral students.

Applicants shall apply to the designated Chinese universities undertaking this program. For the applicants who are willing to apply for study in SWUFE, need contact SWUFE scholarship office.

Chengdu Government Scholarship

In order to promote educational exchanges and cooperation between Chengdu and the countries along the “Belt and Road” and international sister cities of Chengdu, attract more international students to study in Chengdu, and promote the sustainable and healthy development of the cause of studying abroad in Chengdu, the Chengdu Municipal Government has established the Chengdu “ The Belt and Road” Government Scholarship and Chengdu International Sister City Government Scholarship for International Students. It covers the tuition fees of international students, fully or partially, and need to be applied every year. The Scholarship office of SWUFE is authorized by Chengdu Municipal Government to be responsible for the acceptance, review, and approval of the scholarship applications. Applicants shall apply to SWUFE.

l Chengdu “The Belt and Road” Government Scholarship

The Chengdu “The Belt and Road” Government Scholarship is only open for the applicants who have the nationality of countries along the "Belt and Road" and hold a valid foreign passport. “The Belt and Road” countries are Yemen , Egypt, Jordan, Syria, Indonesia, Philippines, Myanmar, Brunei, East Timor, Bhutan, United Arab Emirates, Thailand, Vietnam, Singapore, Israel, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Czech Republic, Bangladesh, Belarus, Cambodia, Georgia, Hungary, Iraq, Iran, Kyrgyzstan, Laos, Kazakhstan, Qatar, Kuwait, Moldova, Maldives, Malaysia, North Macedonia, Mongolia, Nepal, Poland, Bulgaria, Romania, Serbia, Saudi Arabia, Slovakia, Tajikistan, Russia, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Korea, Turkey, Ukraine, Uzbekistan.

l Chengdu International Sister City Government Scholarship

Applicants for the Chengdu International Sister City Government Scholarship must be citizens of sister cities with foreign nationality, who were born in or have work and study experience in a sister city of Chengdu. Please find the list of sister cities via the link below.

SWUFE Scholarship

The SWUFE Scholarship was established by SWUFE, aiming to encourage and support excellent international students to pursue degrees at SWUFE. The scholarship is categorized into full scholarships and partial scholarships. Full scholarship covers tuition, living stipend (including accommodation subsidy) and comprehensive medical insurance. Partial scholarship covers tuition.
