Industrial prosperity is the basic prerequisite for rural revitalization. How to develop modern agriculture and realize industrial prosperity? With this question in mind, as the practical content of the class of "Industrial Organization Theory", on April 30, 2021, Professor Yu Jianyu, Professor Guo Mengmeng and Associate Professor Xu Xiaoyan of RIEM led the students to Pixian County, Chengdu, to discuss modern agriculture. The development status of several typical farms and agricultural enterprises in China was investigated.
The first to investigate is the Chengdu Zhonglv Dadi Agricultural and Vegetable Planting Cooperative. Deng Xiaopeng, the legal person of the cooperative enterprise, introduced the development history, business scope and sales channels of China Green Land Agricultural and Vegetable Planting Cooperative. The cooperative mainly grows organic vegetables. By signing a long-term cooperation agreement with Ito-Yokado, it realizes the standardization of contract farming. The final products are sold to Ito-Yokado supermarket, and a small part of the products flow to VIP member customers to ensure high quality and low price. Deng Xiaopeng also talked about the difficulties faced in the development of planting cooperatives, such as the high labor cost and the urgent need for government policy support for small and micro enterprises. The atmosphere at the scene was very strong, and the students were in high spirits and had a lively discussion with Mr. Deng.
Afterwards, the research team inspected the planting areas of Chaonong family farms. The farmer, Li Xueyou, led the students to his home, had a long talk with them, and explained the origin, development process, current planting situation and future prospects of Chao Nong family farms. The students had a lively discussion and exchange on the farm's income cost, sales methods and other issues.
Finally, the research team visited the Yuzhihe Smart Agricultural Vegetable Production Base. The person in charge, General Manager Jiang Xiaoming, shared his views on the operation mode and future of smart agriculture in my country. He believes that smart farms can save labor costs for production, and large-scale technical production can reduce uncertainty risks. China's agriculture will present a large-scale and intensive development in the future. The students discussed and exchanged with Jiang Xiaoming on how to improve farm production efficiency from the production side, increase sales income from the sales side, current business strategies and the future development of Chinese agriculture.
The students benefited a lot from this survey and gained a deeper understanding of the diversified development of modern agriculture in my country and the development path of rural revitalization.
